THE LILLY + BARRIER BED
Wooden Childrens Beds, Handcrafted for Growing Families
Every wooden childrens bed at Comodo Living pairs a soft upholstered frame with solid wood leg and frame detailing, giving you a warmer, more natural look than a fully fabric bed. Each one is handcrafted to order in the UK, covered by our 5-year structural guarantee, and available across 44 fabric options — so you can pick a finish that suits your child's room, and your own.
Great for Small Bedrooms
Not every child's room has space for a full-size frame, so several of our styles are built with smaller spaces in mind:
- Compact, low-profile frames ideal for childrens beds for small bedrooms, leaving more floor space for play
- Barrier-bed options (like the Grace + Barrier and Lilly + Barrier) that add a protective edge without taking up extra room
- A small double kids bed option for shared rooms, growing children, or families who want a bed that lasts longer than a single
Practical Features for Growing Families
We know practicality matters as much as looks when you're furnishing a child's room:
- All frames are upholstered by hand in the UK, with wood detailing built to withstand daily use
- Barrier bed designs give younger children a gentle guard rail as they move from cot to bed
- Free fabric swatches let you test durability and colour at home before you order
- Looking for something more specific, like a kids bed with wardrobe or a childrens bed with slide? These aren't part of our standard range, but our Bespoke Service can design a made-to-order frame around exactly what your child's room needs
Choosing the Right Upholstered Bed for Your Space
A few things worth thinking about before you order:
- Room size – curved and low-profile frames suit smaller rooms; extended and winged frames make a bigger visual statement
- Fabric performance – if you have pets or children, ask us about our more hard-wearing weaves
- Headboard height – higher headboards create a more dramatic, hotel-style feel
- Wood vs fully upholstered legs – wood frame details add contrast and a slightly more traditional touch
